Need some ideas for a cheap outdoor wedding. On a tight budget.?

My boyfriend doesn't care when we get married but will help me plan. We are the ones paying for everything. I want to have an outdoor wedding, probably at a park, in the summer or very early fall. I know that I can make my own invites (Target has some nice ones that go well with my planner), get some flowers (fake) from a dollar store as well as other stuff from there, but I need ideas for other stuff. Our families are unable to help financially. This is his second wedding and my third. I would also like ideas on ways to include his 3 teenage daughters in the wedding.

I suggest something casual and small. Family might not be able to help financially, but ask them to make food or something. Get some disposable cameras, put them on seats with notes saying "we'd love to have you be our photographer, so please use this camera and capture us on our special day. Please make sure these pictures can be seen by children one day...lol". Make his daughters your attendants, or if one can sing, ask her to sing a song for both of you. Pick a color for your wedding and tell the girls to go buy a dress that color, doesn't have to be the same dress, just same color (that way if its a dress they like, they'll be able to wear it again). Music? I suggest asking someone to act as DJ, get everyone to "loan" CD's for the reception for music, just have someone there to change them out once in a while.

My wedding was paid for by me and hubby, so I know about tight budget. $3000 is all we spent, and I had 7 attendants and groomsmen, 13 boutineers, 9 bouquets, 8 corsages, a 3 tier cake, and my family and friends did the food as our gift. My dress was designer, but I lucked out and found the one I wanted in consignment store. My dress originally cost $2000, but at consignment store, I paid $350 (never worn either). My aunt made all my bridesmaid dresses as my gift from her. I spent $100 on material, thread, and accessories for 7 dresses for 7 girls. Not too bad.....

GL; and Congrats! I hope this helps!!
Reply:I think you just need to keep it simple. Only one bridesmaid being your maid of honor. He should just have a best-man. This will cut down on corsages. Rent or borrow an arch for background and decorate with live ivy. You can cut it several hours before and it will still look good. I am sure you can find someone willing to give it too you. I am also sure someone will loan you potted ferns. Borrow church chairs for seating. You can take old white sheets and drape over them and tie bows around them if you just have to cover them. You can also rent if necessary. As for food, time your wedding when finger foods would be appropriate. You can ask each side to contribute for food by bringing cheese, crackers, etc. Kroger or Walmart can make your cake.
Reply:Why don't you do something totally different, since you both have been married a few time before. Why not have a theme or fancy dress wedding. Where you can hire all the outfits a theme of a film or something the kids would like. You could hire a community hall and decorate it cheaply to go with the theme. Get guest's to bring a dish of food or drink or something as surely you don't need presents as you must have enough stuff between you. It's about marrying the person you love not how much it cost's and have fun while you are doing it
Reply:The cheapest way is to purchase and do everything yourself. Have your family help as well. When my husband and I got married we didn't have alot of money ourselves. But we did everything just under 2000. But of course I bought things along the way and made my own decorations.
Reply:Hi, have you tried going to http://www.clienty.com

They're like a free wedding planning company and they will show you vendors prices and photos. My friend saved a lot of money through them and had a very easy planning :)
Reply:If the wedding is outside, don't worry about flowers. Target has a lot of awesome stuff cheap.

His daughters can be bridesmaids, just have them wear inexpensive summer dresses (no more than $60)

You can have the wedding be a potluck. If you truly know ea. guest, have them bring a special dish you love and include it as an insert with the wedding invite. Or, have a cookout theme - hamburgs and hotdogs, and let everyone know it will be relaxed.

Find a nice park, rent a pavilian and go to town. Ask a friend that takes decent pictures to take your photos, maybe another friend has a decent system or have the girls burn some cds for music. Ask thier input!

Have fun! Good luck.
Reply:my friends wedding was about 2000...it was held in a church...his church didnt have a building so he asked the church's mother church if they can sponsor him. the one that married them was a friend of his from college that has a license to do this. as for the teenage daughters...what about having them as brides maid?
Reply:Make the teenagers bridesmades (in addition to your own choices for brides maids). You can get friends and relatives to make food, drinks and snacks--and if people want alcohol put BYOB on the invitations.

Since this is not the first wedding for either of you, it does not have to be a big expensive deal.

Best wishes.
Reply:Watch "Who's Wedding Is It Anyway?" they usually have good ideas.
Reply:You can go to an area park or if you know someone who has a nice big yard you can have it there along with the reception. One of his daughters can be the flower girl and the others can be bridesmaids. The reception can be outside as well or you can go to the justice of the peace for an inexpensive wedding and spend more money on the reception.
Reply:instead of flowers (which can be expensive)

each person can carry a lit candle, and use white christmas lights to decorate

Join your local freecycle group at freecycle.org - and ask for the Christmas lights

Do a wedding theme - alot of times traditional wedding stuff is expensive, but if you go with a theme, you can do it much cheaper!

Consider renting an outdoor pavilion at a local park- they're usually the cheapest venue. Even cheaper is if you know someone with a beautiful backyard who can hose the wedding.

Load up on frozen things at Sam's - get eggrolls, cut them at a slant, get blocked cheese, and cut it in cubes yourself, buy several large loafs of french bread, slice them, rub with garlic and a litle butter, and toast them - alot of pretty food can be made on the cheap - its all about presentation.

Half Price books is a great place to go to find books with great ideas to do a wedding on a budget.
Reply:This probably is rude, but 3 marriages? and you are still wanting to play marriage again?? good luck
