Cheap 5-gallon buckets?

I need about 10 to 15 5-gallon buckets for flowers (for a wedding, they need a few days to open) any ideas where I can get some cheap? Lowe's has them but they are like 5 $ a piece, I was hoping for a less expensive route.... Any ideas? Thanks

Cheap 5-gallon buckets?
If there's a Home Depot opening near you, they usually have them for $.97 for the grand opening.

Otherwise, as someone else suggested, try restaurants or construction sites. Restaurants (esp sandwich shops) get pickles in 5 gallon buckets. And contractors get joint compound in the same buckets. They don't usually want more than a few of them hanging around, but they get them all the time.

They'd probably be happy to let you take them away.
Reply:Five dollars a bucket is extremely inexpensive but you could try calling a local painter. They always have old paint buckets they use hundreds of times for repainting that they throw out when the paint builds up to much on the outsides. They look aweful because they are hundreds of colors but they would probally sell them to you for $4 dollars each, knowing you would ordinarily pay $5. Not including the phone calls to locate, the trip to pick them up, the hour or so to collect them up and sort out the bad ones, that would save you almost $15 dollars.
Reply:This is going to sound weird, but if you don't want to fork over money..then either call or go to the dump yard and ask if they have any cat litter containers there that they aren't using...I know that our garbage can't recycle them (don't ask me why because they have the logo on the bottom) but they will give them away...otherwise it ends up in the trash...

OR you could ask your friends for them if they have cats...

All you have to do is wash them out and let them dry...I use them all the time and they come in handy too!
Reply:See if you can get them from bars and restaurants in your area. Bakery's are another idea. Be careful you do not want any that have had pickles in them recently. The vinegar smell stays with the buckets for awhile.
Reply:Lots of resturants get food in 5 gallon buckets ask around!
Reply:if there is construction going on you can get the drywall buckets from the dumpsters, they take up a lot of room and most companies will let you take them, but don't really, ask, just grab some, usually construction guys do not guard their trash like hospitals and dunkin' donuts do.
