Where can I get cheap household goods?

I have rented a property out for 18 months but it has recently became vacated and I am looking at selling it. It has all been platered out freashly and new carpets have been put down, a new bathroom and kitchen have been fitted, the house looks very nice but very bear bar some basic furniture. I know to make the house sellable I need to make it look very homely and fashionable. What I want to know is where can I get the cheapest house hold goods to style my house. Im talking about very cheap pictures, twigs, vases, fake flowers, candles, mirrors etc. They dont have to be great quality just enough to give the place a good feel rather than just a naked house. Im on a tight budget so the cheaper the better remember I am only doing it to sell the house. I live in the England in the midlands.

Where can I get cheap household goods?
Maybe some of your friends have items they would be willing to give you. Best way I know of, to sell a house, bake bread or cookies right before you show it.. (In that house) - the SMELL is 'comforting' and will enhance the senses of the potential buyer...reminding them how wonderful a 'home' can be. - works in the US anyway.. maybe you need to bake scones or croissants in England for it to work?

Good luck with the sale!!!
Reply:I'm not sure what's available in England, but in the US we have discount stores like Family Dollar and Dollar General and Big Lots. You might try a business listing search of discount stores in your area. These stores here have great items at very inexpensive prices and sounds like you could get everything you need!
Reply:Just go to ikea. Take a couple of trolleys will you.

Get a couple of large glass vases aswell and dump a dried flower display in it.

Crockery is dirt cheap.

Go to the bargain clearance section of the store. They sometimes have something you could have just been looking for that may have a slight damage but is certainly good enough just to display for selling or to rent out.
Reply:You might wish to leave the home empty of furnishings. It allows potential buyers to visualize their belongings in the space. What appeals to buyers (believe it or not) is smell.

A vanilla air freshener or fresh linen spray will do the trick.

Sounds like you have done a fabulous job getting the property in shape! Good Luck to you!
Reply:the dollar store that's were you get the cheapest stuff.
