I mean CHEAP. Very tight budget. We can arrange them ourselves... my sister is GREAT at arranging flowers. Any ideas appreciated.

What is the cheapest way to buy real flowers for an outdoor wedding in July in Tennessee?
talk with any friends or relatives that garden and ask if you can pick a few of their flowers before the big day ...
if no one around you has a green thumb, ask a florist around you if she would consider giving you a deal - usually florists charge anywheres from double to triple the cost of the flowers, so ask them if they would be willing to sell the flowers in bulk and at a little more than cost.(talking about a lot of flowers, not a little of this or a little of that) - but make sure they know they wouldn't have to do anything to the flowers, they dont have to worry about cutting or perserving the flowers; all they would have to do is get them in...that way they might be more apt to giving you the deal...
i worked for a florist, and although she would never advertise that she did this, she would if the bride would ask...
Reply:http://www.onlinewholesaleflowers.com had very nice flowers for cheap....
that or go to your local florist and tell him to pick something cheap- most florists go out daily to get great deals on flowers and can get you great deals if you arent picky on what you want.
Reply:Why don't you just grow the flowers yourself, if you start now your flowers should be blooming by then?
If I had to replan my wedding, I would also pick wild flowers to try and be conservation.
Where you are having that wedding, get the Mr groom to do some roto tiller and grow some flowers out there.
I heard of this one guy planting flowers for his outdoor wedding. Yard sale for flower pots or make wooden ones.
Get someone to teach you flower drying and making flower arrangements wouldn't that be nice.
You can make a visit to the green house.
Reply:If you have a Costco wholesale store near you AND you or someone you know is willing to prepare the arrangement the day before the wedding...then this is a very "cheap" way to go.
My wedding date was Feb. 8th - very close to Valentine's Day - ALL the florists wanted to charge me two arms and two legs because "its the busiest time of the year"....
My future husband's cousin dabbled in flower arranging - she made me bouquets, and flower items for everyone in the wedding party.
If you have a Costco - go inside and check out their fresh "bulk" flowers - they have A HUGE selection of all different colored roses and other flowers too - also, they sell in bulk on their website.
We spent $200 for all flowers and flower arrangements.
TIP - if you do them yourself - I was told to put them in the fridge overnight -BUT - you must take out all food that gives off natural gases - like fruits and veggies (i think veggies) - they will wilt the flowers.
Reply:local farmers market or flea market usually carry flowers

Reply:Try your local Walmart Supercenter. They have beautiful roses, lilys, etc... Really cheap. If you buy one store out then go to the next one. You can get a bouqet of really nice flowers for $3.88
Reply:Well if you know anybody with a huge garden you could offer to pay a minimal price to use their flowers and then invite them to the wedding as well. Try searching around online as well.
Reply:See if there is a local farmers market around or talk to one of the local florist and let them know that you just want loose flowers and alot of times they will give them to you just a little above cost.
Reply:check dumpsters at funeral homes.
Reply:Actually, I found that if you call around to the local florists they can give you what is called a GROOM'S PACKAGE. They will give you one set price for everything. I was able to get four bouquets, eight boutineers, 11 center pieces, and five coursages for like 150 bucks. Talk to them, I am pretty sure they will work something out for you. Good luck and hope this helps.
Reply:You ask everyone you know for their flowers out of their gardens. It'd be a great mixture and... cheap. Just a thought lol
Reply:pick them. that way you got FREE flowers. what could be any better?? lol

Is there ANYWHERE I can buy (cheap) just a few flowers so I can arrange them myself?
I usually arrange about 15 medium vases and 5 large vases per week. I want the wholesale price, because I'll be a regular customer, without the huge quantity. I'm a one-lady charity service (I give the flowers away to sick %26amp; forgotten). I live in Dallas, though I'd love to order over the internet...I order my supplies that way...
Is there ANYWHERE I can buy (cheap) just a few flowers so I can arrange them myself?
You could speak with the florist near you and ask if you can piggy-back on his order. Once you explain what you are doing, I'm sure you can make arrangements.
I doubt there are any internet suppliers for small orders. See the searchlist below for your local wholesale dealers. Choose the one that is best for you.

You can do them yourself for not a lot of money if you buy them in bulk online. Try www.sommerflowers.com or www.fiftyflowers.com or flowerbud.com

Its simple, and cheap, and EASY. I just made all my flowers yesterday...... lol It cost me $40, and thats to do 3 bouquets, mine, 2 bridesmaids, 19 boutineers (Yes we have a very very large extended family with all our grandparents)
Think about different ways you can do it cheaper. You can buy fake flowers that look real and do it yourself. Have your bridesmaids help too. Make it a fun day.

Reply:Hi,
I had the same prob for my wedding I was on a budget. So I went to look for a cheap florist....two days before the wedding he let me down. I ended up buying white and blue ballons, ribbon and wire. Tables alredy had white and blue (baby blue) as that was the theme for my wedding. A large heart shaped wire arch was made covered in ballons (4 blue, 4 white, 4 blue etc...) then ballons around the hall with ribbons. At first I thought it would look tacky but if its done right it can look beautiful and the best part it didnt cost much :) I did have centerpieces and these were blue floating candles (lit) in a shallow bowl and white candles (with the water dyed blue) I hope this helps or gives you an idea :)
Reply:Have you ever considered doing them yourself? It is really easy to do and since you say you are doing simple arrangements and not having a lot of flowers this would be inexpensive and things would be done the way you really want them! It's not hard to do, the only thing is time. You didn't say when your wedding was so that would be a factor so that you do not over stress yourself! Been there done that one! If you have time though this might be something you would want to consider.
Congratulations on your upcoming marriage! God Bless!

Reply:Gerber daisy are not always the cheapest flowers. They can be as expensive as roses depending on the time of year needed. Go into a florist, tell them your bugget. They should be able to help you out. If you want to do them yourself, see your local grocery store. They get bunches of flowers in you can make beautiful bouquets. Do not go with silk, they may last forever but silks can cost way more than fresh flowers. Just remember, you also have to pay for the labor of putting it together.

Check out your local cemetery. Yes, that is what I said. Many of the have a no flowers policy and remove all of the flowers weekly. I was looking for flowers for a Bible School project and someone told to try there. I ended up with thirty gardenias that looked brand new and reall as anything. I used them to do a wedding for a friend and it came out amazing. Maybe you can get most of your filler flowers through a cemetery and only have to buy a few to make your bouquets.

Good cheap, household materials to make a model of a flower and its parts out of?
I need to make a model of a flower and its parts (petal, stamen with anther and filament, sepal, ovule, and pistil with stigma, style, and ovary). I tried clay but it didn't work at all. So I need some good cheap household materials and instructions if possible on how to make them. Thanks!
Good cheap, household materials to make a model of a flower and its parts out of?
It can be done and what comes to my mind is a hanger! You know the bendy silver ones. You can make the stem, twist hanger around to shape leaves. Maybe use candel wax to add petals as an effect which will wtick to the hanger once it cools down. While the candel wax is hot - cut green material and place i on the wax which will be the effect of the leaves etc %26amp; work from there. Hope this helps!! :)
Reply:You need some craft glue, cardboard, and pipe cleaners. Bend the pipecleaners into a stem with a substantial amount folded at both ends of the pipecleaner. Glue one end to a peice of cardboard for the bottom of the stem to make the 'ground'. Take another pipe cleaner and bend it into a couple of loops, now squash the loops right next to each other loop to make the petals. If you need to, grab another pipecleaner and twist the end to the end of the other "petals" pipecleaner. When you have something resembling the petals of a flower twist the end of the pipecleaners around each other and fold it underneath the flower petals to make a base which you need to glue onto a piece of cardboard circle. Make the circle around 4 1/2 inches in diameter. Now glue this circle (with the petals attatched) to the bent over end of the 'stem' pipecleaner. Draw a small circle on this cardboard base to represent the ovary. The stamen will be a bit tricky, but if you can find some wire, cut tiny lengths and simply stick them through the cardboard sitting under the petals. Hows that? Goodluck
Reply:Cotton buds could do the anther and filament - five cotton buds and paint them yellow should be easy enough.
Petals could just be card, you might be able to cut up a colourful bottle top if you're feeling adventurous, but I can't think of how to stick it down... hmm, actually, you got any blue tack?
The stem could be a garden stick, you know the little green ones? About 5 mm square rods could be the stem and it should be tough enough to hold up the rest. If you don't have that then just find a green pencil, and again, use blue tack or plasticine to hold it in place.
The sepal could just be green card again, wrapped around your pencil.
The fiddly bit in the middle is harder - may I recommend plasticine? Use different colours to get the ovule and ovary and all that.
Good luck, and have fun!
Reply:Dear Erika,
I think that petals and leaves could be made of paper which you color or paint in appropriate colors. The stem could be of wire wrapped with paper. If you have any of those tiny wires used in telephone connections, they could be used to make the stamen, perhaps with a small wad of tissue at the end. The pistil form would depend on what kind of flower you are making, but a wad of tissue at the bottom, center of the stamens might work.

What are some reasonably priced flowers?
We originally were set on having calla lillies, but things keep adding up and calla lillies are so expensive! What are some cheaper, but beautiful flowers that could be used for the Bridesmaids bouquets? I still want Calla lillies in my bouquet, so maybe something that can be mixed in with callas as well. Any ideas? The bridesmaids dresses are wine color. Thanks!
What are some reasonably priced flowers?
Dahlias. They are less expensive that calla lilies but they still look stunning. Dahlias come in a wide varieties of colors, including a beautiful burgundy-wine.
Reply:You're doing the right thing - get what you want because you're the bride and your bouquet will be all over in pictures. I got roses like I had wanted and the girls had Gerbera Daisies. They're inexpensive and come in MANY colors (and are GORGEOUS - they're my favorite flower now!). They probably won't mix welll with callas, but honestly, they're so pretty in a bunch by themselves. My girls carried 10 with a wire-beaded collar (but they would've been pretty with just an organza bow tied around the stems instead to cut back on the price).
Good luck!
Reply:I went to the farmers' market for the flowers for our son's wedding, but if that's inconvenient, go to a supermarket and make your own bouquets, bouteniers, etc. We got a book at a crafts store. It took five people about two hours. It was fun.

Where can i find cheap turquoise items for my wedding, flowers especially?
Ribbons, or candles would be a good centerpiece.
Where can i find cheap turquoise items for my wedding, flowers especially?
Look at Hobby Lobby. You can find floral spray that will color the petals of white flowers, tinting their edges in turquise. You can't have real turquise flowers, but you can add a touch of the color to real flowers this way!
Try Oriental Trading Company, www.orientaltrading.com, to find decorations by color.
Good luck!
